The way we get from here to there may be a problem.

As of August 26th, Garmin, the company that produces the trusty GPS systems, issued a recall of several of their machines. The recall includes over one million of the portable devices, including models Nuvi 200W, 250W, 260W and other models as well. Just under 800,000 of these machines were reportedly sold in the United States.

According to autoblog.com, Garmin has announced the machines as a fire risk, because some of the devices have a faulty battery, which is leading to overheating of the machines and the possibility of fire.

No injuries have been reported due to the device thus far.

Auto Shippers encourages Garmin users to go the Garmin website and enter the machine’s serial number into the provided space. If yours is a defective model, Garmin will instruct you from there. It will only take a minute of your time, and is worth the few seconds for the safety of you and your family.
